ASM Hydrasynth Desktop

General
In recent years, we have been seeing new unusual synths appear all the time. Often these are the somewhat smaller manufacturers who release minimalist synths according to the standard pattern: oscillator, filter, envelope. The somewhat larger companies also release minimalist synths, for example reproductions of old synths that - for logical reasons - could do a little less at the time. There are guaranteed to be sound designers and producers who, thanks to the new ASM Hydrasynth, have a "finally" thought, a sigh of relief. Because after so many synths that do not always bring something new to the table, it is very nice that there is another synth that dares to be great. A synth that just has an old-fashioned big mouth again in terms of functionality.
Features of the ASM Hydrasynth
At first glance, this synth already looks very covetable, with labels and aluminum sides that somehow also have something familiar, something Japanese. But under the hood it's all a little less mainstream; this synth has a base of digital morphing wavetables, with 219 waves to choose from. So the sound is much more than the usual anyway. There are also two extended filters which you can use serially or in parallel. Extensive envelopes and LFOs don't even finish it off, the large modmatrix and effects do. And for some fine grooves, there is a very extensive arpeggiator on board. And then the keyboard: a nice keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch, and a ribbon controller! Interaction with other equipment is via MIDI, CV and USB. ASM (Ashun Sound Machines) is certainly not the only maker of synths today, but especially considering the price, the Hydrasynth is one to keep a sharp eye on. A future-classic? Who knows!
