Roland Juno-X synthesizer

General
The Roland Juno made quite a name and reputation in the 1980s, and of course in the revival years that followed. The reason? The Juno series of yore (Juno-6, Juno-60, Juno-106) included just rock-solid synthesizers. Affordable, moreover, so an easy synth for the keyboard player in a band. Not only were they fast and simple to operate, but the analog sound is still popular. And then you already know: there comes a time when this great name is revived. That's what Roland is doing now with the Juno-X synthesizer! Previously, Roland already had the DS series with the name "Juno" on it; this new Juno-X, on the other hand, truly resembles the famous Juno-106.

Features of the Roland Juno-X
In addition to the Juno-6, Juno-60 and Juno-106, the HS-60 also appeared at the time, which was a Juno-106 aimed at home use, with built-in speakers. Why are we highlighting this? This new Juno-X also has built-in speakers, how special is that! Under the hood, though, it's different; in this Juno-X, no analog components, just the mighty ZEN-Core engine! Those who know the ZEN-Core (or at least have read about it) understand that this Juno-X is not just a contemporary Juno-106. In addition to a sonic recreation of the Juno-60 and Juno-106, you get sounds from the XV-5080, the RD series and Roland's own classic vocoder. Moreover, there is an expansion slot in which you can upload Expansions from the Roland Cloud, think a Jupiter-8, JD-800... Oh, also worth mentioning: with the purchase you get ten Sound Packs of the Roland Cloud as a gift from Roland.

Further possibilities
For those familiar with the original Juno-106, this Juno-X will be a feast of recognition. At first glance it is really just a Juno-106 but with a ZEN-Core and a nice graphic display. On the back you will find the outputs, including XLR outputs like on the big Fantoms. So for stage work, this Juno-X is rock solid! Not in the mood for cables? There is also support for Bluetooth audio. What's also not missing is a USB Audio interface and USB MIDI interface, plus you can plug in a USB stick for backup. Does the sound engine sound like a lot of work? Maybe so, the ZEN-Core can do a lot. Fortunately, there is a free Juno-X Editor available for macOS and Windows, which does make it a little easier to (re)build sounds yourself. All in all, this is another monster of a synth, both in the studio and on stage.
