General
Create a song without a computer? Perform live with synths or drums without a computer? You can do that and much more with the Roland MC-707 Groovebox! This all-rounder is a true production studio in itself, even more so than its smaller brother the MC-101. Make synth sounds on the spot, create drum patterns or tweak with effects, it's all possible! You do all this with eight completely independent tracks. In addition, simply record the audio or control this Groovebox via MIDI. In any case, the potential of the MC-707 is enormous. But, that can't be otherwise when devices like the TR-808, TR-909, TB-303, JUNO-106 and SH-101 are at the basis of this product.
MC-707: the possibilities
Despite its many features, the MC-707 is very user-friendly. Among other things, you have access to a wealth of built-in sounds, beats and phrases. This makes it just that much easier to get started. As you have come to expect from Roland, the sequencer is also central to this product. It is an 8-track sequencer that is clip-based, just like the old Roland drum computers. With 16 super sensitive RGB pads, creating drum parts, melodic bass lines or real chord progressions is a breeze. Because the sequencer saves the clips, you can even create dramatic effects such as sweeps, or deep reverb.
FX, FX and more FX
You don't often find studio-quality effects in devices like this. But at Roland they managed to provide the MC-707 Groovebox with very good FX. With these, you can polish what you've created and make it even tighter than it already was! What should you think about? Think of effects like chorus, reverb and delay that can be controlled per channel. However, you also have access to effects such as overdrive, distortion and amp simulation. With these you can make your tracks sound even more raw. Master effects are also available, these consist mainly of 'bus' compression, filters or a bit crusher, ideal for more punch. In short, you can really do anything with Roland MC-707 Groovebox.
